AND THE WINNER IS...
Steven, I almost took offense to your comment, because I feel like I smile a lot when I'm running. But, then I remembered, I only smile when I'm running with one of my RUNNING BUDDIES!
Thank you for all the comments. All the excuses were so much fun to read. They made me smile and nod a lot! Dave, I disqualified you from the giveaway for adding your last comment because it was directed at me, and that's just not called for...plus, you donated the gift card!
Steven, please email me your address at dkfjsuprak@hotmail.com, so I can send you the prize.

Congrats Steven!
ReplyDeleteI actually started to to 'practice smiling' during my training runs after my first race when I realized I just look pissed off in all the race photos taken of me!! (I was really haveing fun, promise! I just was too focused. lol).
Come run East Lake Sammamish Trail in Issaquah, WA if you want to see happy runners. :) Every person I passed on my last run there was smiling and nodding 'hi'. It was contagious and almost like they were silently encouraging me to 'keep up the good work, you're awesome!'
Wow…I don’t know what to say…I never win things. Also realize that the smiling excuse is just that…an excuse. Most people aren’t smiling while exercising because they are focused Like Caryn said. I don’t smile when I ski, paddle, or hike…yet I immensely enjoy all those things. If you really think about it would be weird to see people smiling while in a full out run.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Steven!
